After introducing an array of features and game facilities on its range of gaming consoles, Microsoft is giving a tough competition to other gaming console manufacturers. The Xbox of Microsoft is a favorite among the gamers who want nothing but the best for themselves.
This encouraged this legendary game console maker to create a next-generation of Xbox console, which is expected to be launched by this June in the gaming conference of E3. Although, the firm has attempted to keep the information of this new device confidential as always but the information has leaked anyway.
As per the screen shots of this latest console’s development that has come over the net, it looks as if this new device will have the always-on, always-connected feature. This new piece has been code named Durango but it is mostly referred by many as the Xbox 720.
As per reliable sources, the Durango system will have various kinds of power states, which will allow it for be powered at all times. However, it will draw a very minimal amount of electricity when it is not in use; thus making the console instantly ready for the users when they wish to play. With that, it will also maintain its network connection at all times, so the console software and its games stay connected to the online interface that may be necessary.
With Microsoft tackling the superfast times for startup in its Windows 8 OS, it has made fantastic developments with this upcoming console. Now the user could start and immediately get their choice of entertainment connected. All of this without the wait for any restarts of the console or the update installation. The additional best thing is that every Durango will come packed with a Kinect sensor, which is necessary to operate the system.
The new controller will prove to beat the best-in-class game console controller of Xbox 360 even better. The wireless connectivity is low-latency to the console with improved ergonomics. To make it easier for the novice gamers, the system interactions have been simplified by Microsoft.
Durango or Xbox 720 has the Blu-ray optical drive but it will not interrupt into the optical drive when the games will be played. The best feature is the design of the installation system, which allows the gamer to start playing when the game installation is still in progress. Hence, a gamer doesn’t have to wait until the installation is finished. The most important factor that would decide the success here would be the price, when it will be finally launched by the middle of this year.
But that shouldn’t stop those consumers, who are willing and ready to pay a good sum of money for greater control for entertainment pleasure. With the launch of Xbox 720, the competition will heat up, which could make the overall prices of gaming consoles in the market fall rapidly. What will happen can only be assessed when the “Always On, Always Connected” Console of Xbox 720 will be available in June.
